Becoming HRD Corp Accredited: My Training Journey

I would NEVER have imagined that I'd be a 'teacher' — I was such a mischievous student that I had no plans on becoming one, for fear of karma repercussions. Yet here I am.

Not long ago, I came across a reminder of a post I'd written exactly a year earlier. Reading it back, I was struck by how far the journey had come.

"I have been asked to provide trainings, was invited twice as a TEDxTalks speaker, and have delivered many sessions on media handling and public speaking — but it was during the pandemic that I decided to get serious about my next career move. So I took a train-the-trainer course and started preparing my modules. The modules are personalised for each client and their expectations. I take pride in doing so. It's been a great journey so far, and I enjoy the process of growing and learning with my participants. Alhamdulillah."

Becoming HRD Corp Accredited

All trainers who wish to conduct training under the various Human Resources Development Corp (HRD Corp) schemes — meaning claimable training programmes — must be HRD Corp Accredited Trainers. So I got that done.

The next step was to register as a Training Provider. In general, HRD Corp registered employers are allowed to make claims by attending trainings conducted by HRD Corp Registered Training Providers.

What This Means for My Clients

As a registered HRD Corp Training Provider, companies who are levy contributors to HRD Corp can use their allocated funds to send their employees to my workshops and trainings. That means they can obtain reimbursement for their training fees directly from HRD Corp. There are also opportunities to partner with HRD Corp's preferred vendors in implementing various training schemes.

Registered Courses

Here are the two courses I have registered under HRD Corp:

  • Public Speaking & Communication Mastery
  • Media Handling and Crisis Communication for Corporate Leaders

I'm also planning to add a workshop on Emceeing, since that's the question I get asked most often. Drop me a message if you're keen to know more about any of these programmes and how your company can benefit.
